Background

I have been telling stories professionally since -87. Since -89 I am a fulltime free-lance storyteller and educator. Before that I worked for many years as a clinical psychologist. As a psychologist I learned how to listen. This is an ability I have good use for when I help adults and children in schools and pre-schools to develop their narrative skills.

I have performed in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, UK, USA, Canada, Ukraine and Malaysia.

In 1991 I published Berättarboken, a book about storytelling technique which is translated into danish and used in teachers education all over Scandinavia.

I´m also doing pedagogical research and organizing storytelling events.

I love telling tall tales and skippers yarns, history, biographical stories, scandinavian mythology and folktales from around the world.

In a weekend of such
outstanding tellers,

it is hard to pick a favourite. For us it was Ulf Ärnström of Sweden, whose quiet, spare telling was filled with an unusual combination of warmth and mysticism.

Så börjar
Ulf Ärnström berätta...

...förvåna oss, förföra oss.
Varsamt, lätt och listigt.

Berättare med
magisk kraft...

nästan hypnotiskt.

Vi vill höra mera...
Så blir det plötsligt om möjligt ännu tystare Vi vägrar acceptera att resan tagit slut. Våra hörselnerver är fortfarande spända till det yttersta. Vi vill höra mera...
